Accommodation
Innkeepers Cottage, as the name suggests, was once the residence of the local innkeeper in the 17th Century. Today it has been sympathetically refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and has retained many period features including exposed timber beams, wooden floors, sash windows and original fireplaces. A charming and unique little cottage, but don't just take our word for it, read what our guests have to say under the comments section. RoomsWith an open log fire, the sitting room is ideal for those cosy evenings in after a day spent exploring the dales. The country style kitchen has been hand made by local craftsman in solid pine and is complimented by a traditional Belfast sink with a quarry tiled floor. The large bedroom has a sumptuously comfy double bed with a feature fireplace. All rooms have been tastefully furnished and have a nostalgic feel to them. There is a small raised garden to the rear with patio, which overlooks fields with sheep, rabbits and hens etc. Car parking directly outside of cottage. Non-smokers only please. 1 well behaved pet welcome. Cottage Amenities
Village Amenities include:
And last but by no means least, the most fabulous country pub and coffee house in the whole of Weardale, The Black Bull Inn, with its flag floors, Victorian ranges, traditional beers and ciders, good food, excellent coffee, scones and desserts etc - the only pub in the country with it own bell ringers, truly atmospheric and best of all only a few minutes walk away from the cottage. Also, 2007 Winner of "Most Authentic Pub Award" by Alastair Sawday's Special Places, Pubs and Inns of England and Wales.) |
